Domenico De Sole was president and CEO of Gucci Group until 2004(도메니코 드 솔레 씨는 2004년까지 구찌그룹의 회장이자 CEO였다).

He strengthened the company’s information and logistics process, improved efficiency and upgraded and expanded the network of directly operated stores(그는 회사의 정보 및 물류 처리과정을 강화시켰고, 효율성을 높였으며, 직할운영 점포들의 네트워크를 업그레이드하고 확대했다).

학력 소개에는 receive/earn 동사를 쓴다. After receiving his law degree, he moved to the U.S. in 1970, where he earned a master degree from Harvard(학부에서 법학을 전공한 뒤 1970년 미국에 왔으며 하버드대에서 석사학위를 땄다).

‘어떤 회사에 들어갔다’에는 join을 흔하게 쓴다. Mike joined Merrill Lynch in 2006 in Hong Kong where he was the head of Asia. Prior to that, Mike spent over nine years at Credit Suisse in Hong Kong(마이크는 2006년 아시아 책임자로 메릴린치 홍콩 본사에 입사했다.

Mike began his career at Goldman Sachs in New York where he was a part of the telecommunications Debt Capital Markets team(마이크는 뉴욕 골드만삭스에서 커리어를 시작했다.

Peter Goodman is the national economics correspondent for the New York Times(피터 굿맨은 뉴욕타임스에서 국내 경제부문을 담당하고 있다). correspondent는 특파원 개념보다 ‘담당자’ 의미로 널리 쓰인다. 저서를 소개할 때는 entitled(~라는 제목의) 표현을 잘 쓰면 된다.

He has just written a book entitled, “Past Due: The End of Easy Money and the Renewal of the American Economy”(그는 최근에 막 “만기 초과:‘이지 머니’와 미국경제 회복시대의 끝”이라는 제목의 저서를 출간했다).

Mr. Goodman will touch on financial regulatory reform and then comment on broader economic themes and then will take questions from the audience(굿맨 씨는 금융규제 개혁에 대해 개괄적으로 설명한 뒤 더 넓은 경제 주제를 언급할 예정이다.
