도대체 네가 하는 일은 뭐니?

seriously는 ‘진심으로 말하는데’ ‘정말로’의 의미입니다. Seriously, I‘ve got to eat(정말 뭐 좀 먹어야겠어), Seriously, you need to break up with her(진심으로 말하는데 넌 그 여자랑 헤어져야 해)처럼 쓰지요.

② I’m sorry, dude, this corporate thing… it’s not for me.

미안, 친구, 이 기업문화라는 게… 나랑은 안 맞는 것 같아.

기업문화는 corporate culture, corporate thing이라고 표현합니다. It‘s not for me는 본인과 맞지 않는다는 뜻으로 This isn’t for me(이건 나한테 어울리지 않아), She isn’t for me(그녀는 나랑 안 맞아)와 같이 응용할 수 있지요.

릴리는 괜찮은 여자야. 그런데 큰 꾸러미 없이 릴리를 곁에 둘 수 있을 거라 생각하니?

catch는 한국 표현으로 ‘킹카’ ‘퀸카’에 가까운 의미예요. hang onto는 ‘꽉 잡다’ ‘놓치지 않다’라는 뜻입니다. package는 ‘패키지’ ‘선물 꾸러미’를 말하는데, 어떤 사람을 더 좋게 만들어주는 부수적인 것, 돈, 멋진 집, 자동차 등의 ‘종합선물세트’를 의미하기도 합니다.

④ She’s supporting you on a kindergarten teacher’s salary.

유치원 선생 봉급으로 널 먹여 살리잖아.

support someone on은 ‘누군가를 돈으로 먹여 살리다’라는 뜻입니다. Jane is supporting her family on her book royalties(제인은 그녀의 가족을 책 인세로 먹여 살리고 있어요), I am studying on the state scholarship(저는 국비로 공부하고 있어요)처럼 사용합니다.
