테드, 빅토리아는 네가 한때 로빈에게 빠졌다는 것 알 권리가 있지 않니?

deserve to 동사는 ‘~할 권리가 있다, ~할 만하다’라는 뜻입니다. He deserves to be respected(그는 존경받을 만해)처럼 사용하지요. have the hots for someone은 미국 속어로 ‘~에게 홀딱 빠졌다’라는 뜻입니다.

② I have half a mind to tell the story of the re-return.

다시 사귀려 했다는 걸 내가 직접 말할까 생각 중이야.

have half a mind to 동사는 ‘~할 마음이 굴뚝같다’ ‘~할까 생각 중이다’ ‘~하고픈 마음이 든다’라는 뜻입니다. I have half a mind to tell you the truth!(그 사실을 확 말해버릴까 보다!)와 같이 사용하지요. re-return은 헤어졌다가 다시 사귀는 것, 또는 좋아하는 마음을 접었다가 다시 호감을 갖는 것을 의미하는 속어입니다.

진실을 밝힌다는 이야기가 나와서 말인데.

speaking of~는 ‘~이야기가 나와서 말인데’라는 뜻입니다. dig up dirt는 ‘흙을 파내다’라는 뜻이나 ‘진실을 밝힌다’라는 의미로도 쓰지요.

그러나 새 여자친구에 대한 뻔한 질문공세는 피해주면 안 될까?

interrogation은 ‘질문공세, 심문’을 의미합니다. skip the traditional interrogation이라고 말하는 테드는 릴리와 마셜이 여자친구에게 마치 부모처럼 뻔한 질문공세를 할까봐 당부하는 거죠.
